I always feel that time flies when you are having fun & enjoying yourself. This phrase was once again proven to be true during my recent trip to Bangkok in early July. I felt like I have just arrived, but before I know it, I had to pack up & leave...sigh....
Bangkok is a lovely city, which I always look forward to my visits. Its not a place to go if you are looking to relax by the beach with a good book, its a shop shop shop place! Although I may stress that you can easily enjoy a good book at the many... many cafes dotted around the buildings & malls. And the numerous massage parlours around will definitley help you to relax....you'll be spoiled for choice. As for tan, you'll definitely get a good tan by spending one day at the weekend market...hahaha.
And if you are looking for ancient architectural buildings, you can be assured that BKK have their very own unique skyscapers...occupied or unoccupied...to whet your appetite.
Here's Bangkok's famous traffc jams, taken from the taxi. And their river taxi, a mode of transport the locals like to use. My hubby said I can't take the river taxi cuz when it docked, everyone will disembark at the sametime (notice there is no doors, just a long boat), & for me, I'll end up in the water...sigh!

The four face Buddha (Erawan Shine) at Rajdamri Road. About 8mins walk from my little hotel. My hubby will usually drop by, to pay his respect when he is in BKK.
So what does BKK has that keeps drawing me back, year after year...?? What else but the wonderful "S" words - Shopping & Sotong!!! I do not think I need to explain further regarding shopping, who doesn't know shopping right? But for "sotong", maybe I need to clarify...its sold by those mobile roadside store, where the sotong is cooked over the charcoal stove, cut into little bite size & finally drown in a delicious sweet & spicy sauce...yummmy...the though of it is making me drool already....
I'm always on the lookout for these roadside store- remember to pick those sticks with those big, whole sotong, they are the best! They cost only 50 baht!

The finished product...oohhh...how I miss it already....
I really enjoyed this trip alot more than previous trips because we had more time, so there is no rushing around to get this & grab that. We simply took our time to browse & choose, & when we got tired, we'll sit down for an ice coffee to recharge. The weather is also kind towards us during our visit. It only rained once & for the rest of our stay, it's cool & nice.
Hmmm...dreaming of my next trip....
